Terms of Service

By accessing or using LocalHint's website, mobile applications, or any related services (collectively, "the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users, including customers browsing listings, business owners managing profiles, and any other visitors. We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on LocalHint. By registering, you confirm that: • You are 18 years of age or older. • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. • You are not prohibited from using the Platform under applicable laws. • If registering a business account, you are authorised to act on behalf of that business.

To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to: • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. • Maintain the security of your password and account credentials. • Notify us immediately at support@localhint.in if you suspect unauthorised access. • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or violate these Terms.

Business owners may create listings on LocalHint subject to the following conditions: Accuracy: All information in your listing (name, address, contact details, hours, category, photos) must be accurate and current. You are responsible for keeping your listing up to date. Verification: We may ask for KYC documents to verify your business identity. Providing false documents is a serious violation and may result in permanent account suspension and legal action. Prohibited content: You may not list businesses involved in illegal activities, adult content, tobacco/alcohol sales to minors, pyramid schemes, or any activity that violates applicable law. Reviews: Business owners may not post fake reviews of their own business or competitors. Doing so will result in account suspension. Ownership: You retain ownership of your business information and photos. By listing on LocalHint, you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display and promote your listing on the Platform.

As a customer using LocalHint, you agree to: • Use the Platform for lawful purposes only. • Not post false, misleading, or defamatory reviews. • Not harass, threaten, or intimidate business owners or other users. • Not attempt to scrape, copy, or reproduce our directory data for commercial purposes. • Not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Platform without our written permission. • Respect the intellectual property rights of businesses and other users.

When you make a booking through LocalHint: • You enter a direct agreement with the business for the service. • LocalHint acts as an intermediary platform and is not a party to the transaction. • Cancellation and refund policies are set by individual businesses. • Payment processing is handled by our trusted payment partners (Razorpay). LocalHint does not store your payment card details. • Disputes regarding services or payments should be resolved directly with the business in the first instance. If unresolved, you may contact our support team.

All content on the LocalHint Platform — including the website design, logos, graphics, text, and software — is owned by LocalHint or its licensors and protected by Indian and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not: • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute our Platform's content without written permission. • Use our trademarks, logos, or brand elements without prior approval. • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract our source code. User-generated content (reviews, photos) remains owned by the user but is licensed to LocalHint for display on the Platform.

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. LocalHint does not: • Guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of business listings. • Endorse or recommend any specific business listed on the Platform. • Verify every claim made by businesses beyond our KYC process. • Guarantee that the Platform will be available without interruption or error. Business listings are provided as a directory service. Always verify critical information (like a medical professional's qualifications) directly with the business.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalHint shall not be liable for: • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. • Loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill. • Damages resulting from your reliance on business listings. • Damages from services provided by businesses discovered through LocalHint. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall not exceed ₹1,000 or the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim, whichever is greater.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Platform at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for: • Violation of these Terms. • Providing false or misleading information. • Engaging in fraudulent, harmful, or illegal activity. • Extended inactivity (accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be deactivated). You may delete your account at any time through account settings or by contacting us at support@localhint.in.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any disputes amicably before pursuing legal action.
